The Colorado River

Bullhead City is approximately 2 miles downstream from Davis Dam. A bridge spanning the Colorado River joins this city in Arizona to the Resort/Gaming town of Laughlin, Nevada. This northern part of Bullhead City has been nicknamed "Old Bullhead". However, this name is likely to go away soon since it is the area of the city where the first new Riverfront Condominium Project in over 20 years is. Most of the Laughlin Hotels offer daily river tours. Connecting the majority of the hotels are water taxis and a scenic river walkway.

As the river flows by the homes of "Old Bullhead" and the Casinos the water traffic tends to be busy. This portion of the river is used primarily for recreation. Boating, personal watercraft, fishing, skiing, tubing, diving or just plain relaxing. Gas is available here. There are many spots on both sides of the river for daily rental of personal watercraft.

The aerial view of Bullhead City shows a small portion of the 88 mile Colorado River waterway between Davis and Parker Dam. On the far north you can see Lake Mohave. Follow the flow of the river to see the homes that line the Bullhead City Shore line. Many of properties enjoy their own docks and magnificent views of the water, golf course and surrounding mountains. These include single-family residences, manufactured homes, RV Parks and condominium complexes. There are residential sub-divisions that have river access & boat launches through homeowners associations. There are also public parks & boat launches. On the Nevada side there are many sites and coves to day camp. The beautiful year round weather enables the locals and visitors to enjoy and use the river year round.

As you travel to the southern part of Bullhead City you continue to see mostly Single Family Residential Homes on the Arizona side of the river along with several parks and boat launches. You will pass the Arizizona Veteran Memorial and a large boat launch and beach at Rotary Park. This park also has a skate board area, soccer field, river walk and a toddler park. There isn't any part of the Colorado River in the Tri-State Area that will disappoint you - it a Water Wonderland.
