Katherine's Landing, Lake Mohave

Has a large boat launch & many boat slips that may be reserved on a long term and daily basis.

Lake Mohave, part of Lake Mead National Recreation Area, is 67 miles in length with 237 miles of Shoreline. It's surface area is 44 square miles. Katherine Landing, is just minutes from Bullhead City. It has a large paved boat launch & dock, capable of handling many watercraft at one time. Both Katherine Landing & Cottonwood Cove (25 miles upstream) have boat rentals (including houseboats), fuel, convenience store, restaurant, dry storage & slip rentals. Nature lovers and hikers are certain to enjoy the many opportunities and areas to explore.

Between Willow Beach & Hoover Dam  is one of the Hot  Springs on Lake Mohave just south of Mile Marker 60 on the east side of the lake. The lake is narrow at this point. Keep an eye out for the rock warning signs.  There is a good chance you may see big horn sheep, wild burro or some of the other animal life on the mountains above.  Don´t be surprised  to see Raft Tours floating downstream on the rapids in this section or people fishing on the Lake or along the shoreline.

There are risks are warnings you should be aware of prior to any desert trip. The National Park Service is a good place to start please click for hiking and click for hotsprings information. You may also visit any of the Ranger stations.

Lake Mohave has many coves along it's shoreline. A few can be accessed by road. There are several you can launch from Princess Cove has paved parking and a very steep launch. Telephone Cove is a popular place, as you can see in the photos below,  but does not have a dedicated launch. Great place to swim, fish and enjoy the lake.


The terrain surrounding the lake varies from sheer cliffs or multicolored rocks to sandy beaches and secluded coves. Noted for its water sports; swimming, water skiiing, scuba diving, kayaking, boating and fishing Lake Mohave also offers other forms of recreation. Ancient Indian petroglyphs and other historical phenomena attract hikers into the mountains surrounding the lake. At various times of the year the Rangers stationed at Lake Mohave give classes and conduct hikes through the area.

FISHING LAKE MOHAVE
December thru February:
Excellent trout and striper fishing; some bass
March thru May:
Good bass, catfish, stripers at their best.
June thru August:
Bass & catfish are at their best; stripers are good.
September thru November:
Trout fishing picks up in November, bass is good until about mid-October, crappie fishing improves with cooler temperatures; stipers still strong but deep.
